The building of courage is taking one courageous step in some event that frightened us, or caused some anxiety, and then taking on another such occasion, and each time knocking down that fear and growing inside until finally we can deal with the big fears. Each fear we conquer is a growth in our confidence – we need to recognise what we have faced over the last year or so and realise that we are growing stronger day by day, every day.
If we don’t notice that we have become stronger and don’t feed our mind with positive thoughts about our successes then we will just wilt back to who we were. We have many occasions where God is gently pushing us forward, tending to us, building our confidence that was torn down by evil. Part of believing in yourself is realizing what you have accomplished since you found out about God – if you are really honest and refuse to believe in luck and coincidences you will see that God has been a mighty teacher in your life and that you have gently achieved much.
With time though God will have to let you deal with the more harsher realities of life. And take on the big challenges, but they will help build your confidence even more, and in big steps, and you will feel so good and so fine. And you will be able to stand up to people who have not believed in you before.
God will never ever let us face something that we cannot face – God has faith in us doing the right thing but sadly we shoot our own future down by simply staying in our homes doing nothing when we finally come up to a big worthy challenge.
You cannot see the mighty forces that God has surrounding you protecting you. Believe and have faith (I do). Believe in God, this is why we talk of Faith. God is with you always, believe in this.
To do nothing is to let yourself down. So go and do what you have to do, because for you, it must be done! Be true to yourself!
