Keep Seedlings Warm in the Garden

Keep Seedlings Warm in the Garden

As we know seedlings can suffer shock when they spent their first night out in the cold or night air. The wind, rain, and nature is not what they are used to when they have been brought up in the safe warm protected environment of the greenhouse in seedling trays or in the house in seedling trays.

What I do is transplant the seedlings from the tray, into the garden, and then I add straw around the seedlings to help protect them from the wind and the cold.

Then I give a generous amount of watering every couple of hours and then the next morning.
Many suggest that one should soak the dirt before planting the seedlings so that the seedlings have plenty to drink while getting used to their new environment.
