Pocket too Deep? Here is how to easily fix that.

Image 1 shows the pocket Before and After it was sewed.This fix can be Hand-Sewn or Machine Sewn.

I put my hand into the pocket to judge just how deep I wanted the pocket to be so that I could easily reach in, grab the key and remove my hand easily.
I had to make sure that the pocket was still long enough to not allow the contents of the pocket to fall out if I had to run (which we have to do sometimes on the job).

Once I got the depth I wanted, I marked a line and then sewed long that line.
One thing to be sure of is that the line is sewed securely from one end to the other so that nothing small will fall into the second half of the pocket that is not to be used anymore.
So I would recommend that once you were happy with the length you wanted sew a few lines to make sure it is strong and secure and that nothing will fall through.

Other options are to sew a “V” shape if that would suit you or an “/” angle so that your hand could sit comfortably in the pocket.
