Religious Narcissists Control Their Adult Children, claiming God wills it.

There is a religious married couple I know. They have a daughter in her twenties, yet they have complete control over her life.

The daughter is a very nice sweet person who I have a great respect for. She wants very much to please God and her parents, so she does what her parents tell her, and they tell her that what “they want” is the will of God.

In other words her parents are using God to keep control of their daughter.

The daughter is missing out on life and opportunities because of the parents control over her. She wants to obey God.

Her parents, are religious narcissists. They set all that they do with their children as what is best for their children, and they tell the children that it is God’s will for the children.

God is being used in a very unfair way to control the children, so that they will allow the parents “advice and direction” to control their lives.

The daughter is waiting for God to choose her a good man. But the parents have formed a very narrow view of what a good man for their daughter should be. In other words no man will get the daughter unless he passes all the parents tests and unfair judgments of his character.

The daughter has go idea that if he parents get their way she will be a virgin in her 30’s if her overbearing narcissists parents have their way.

This is why the Bible states, follow God, and when you marry depart from your parents.

God can’t do a great work in someone’s life of they are still “attached” to an imaginary umbilical cord to both parents. That cord must be cut and the individual born.
