Our character, formed by our past, reacts to situations differently to how another person may react.
For instance, if a person hated dark-skinned people (because he was beaten as a child by a dark-skinned person) and saw a dark-skinned child being beaten, he may walk away uncaring.
But his very own brother who was never beaten as a child by a dark-skinned person, will rush to help the child.
Society is made up of people who react so different to others due to upbringing. This is why I deeply support a upbringing based on good morals and decency.
If children are given a strong moral foundation they will grow up to be strong, confident human beings who see life with love and care and will try always to be fair to all.
We can have this back. We just need enough people who want a decent society again.
All the best from
James M Sandbrook.
