They expect that this courage etc will come to them like some Holy Spirit magic, and that because they have called on God they deserve this Holy magic as Saints of God.
The “teachings of Jesus” was what gave the lost their balance in life back then. Today people are not “balanced” or “centered” like Jesus was because they believe that the “Holy magic” will give it to them. This never happens and the religious remain lost as they were when Jesus came to teach them before.
This is why so many believers in God are so completely lost today. They claim to be proud sinners etc, but Jesus said, “Sin no more”, so this means that they are proudly defying the teachings of Jesus. In other words, the believers today are not following Jesus, they are following doctrines created after Jesus died. Human written doctrines.
The religious say that the Jews are a special people and that the message was for the Jews only because we non-Jewish are not capable of following the Ten Commandments or the other Commandments that Jesus gave us. This is a cowardly situation that is leading the religious astray today.

2 Timothy Chapter 2, verse 16:
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

1 Timothy Chapter 1, verse 4:
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
The fables are unbelievable stories, fairytales, myths, told about God and His Prophets which cause people to ask many questions that cannot be answered and they do no good, but they cause confusion and disbelief.
Endless genealogies are long downlines and is included here to say that they are untrue, myths, fantasy etc.
Instead we must believe in faith.

The truth is that the Good News is for everyone and many non Jews heard Jesus’ preaching and believed like the Roman centurion that believed in the teachings of Jesus.
Jesus was a great counselor and comforter. He taught people to deal with life by changing their ways. He taught them how society and the church was doing them wrong and leading them to sin, misery and early deaths. The same as Proverbs, and the Book of James. Those who listened changed, and having seen the value of God standards, good values, good moral beliefs and decency, and the meaning of true love, they followed Jesus and went off and started new communities based on what Jesus taught them. Spreading the Gospel (truth), the great commission etc.
The teachings of Jesus changed the world and brought back peace so that people could live in harmony once again.
The two most evil cities of that time were destroyed by fire. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, were mostly destroyed and buried under volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

The cop out today is religious leaders trying to tell us that we have no control over sin, and that we have to accept that we are weak and the only strong worthy nation are the Jews. This is because the religious leaders of today have no idea how to teach the Ten Commandments or the way that Jesus lived, because they don’t know how to do it themselves.
Remember, the Bible is clear, we will be punished for sins, so why then do churches say that we cannot control sin. They are creating a new age of religious who are only part religious and the rest victims of evil. This is why they say that the churches are working for evil.

So in reality, instead of God’s people denying evil and being strong and courageous, they are weak and laughed at by the rest of the world.
