God sees the heart… We should too!
1 Samuel Chapter 16, verses 6-7: And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’S anointed is before him. But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Humans have their own way with dealing with people who can change the world. The masses tend to at first all rise up against what they cannot understand.
“When a great genius appears in the world you may know him by this sign; that the dunces are all in confederacy against him.”
– Jonathan Swift.
I read that it was years until many of the scientific experts of Einsteins time could start to understand his great scientific theories. And he had some grief and troubles getting through to them. The same with Jesus and others who have stood out and make great change. God sees the heart – people are sometimes simply so scared of change or what they cannot understand they rally up against it and often it takes some time before they realise their error of judgment against the person that can help them.
So how do we often measure people? Do we measure people by their looks? That is one of the ways we have been taught to measure people. We judge people by their school degrees, or high paying job, or fame, of the size of their muscles, hour-glass figure., or bank account. This is the accepted way of today. But what about their heart? Is a short time pleasure worth more than a lifetime of total pleasure?
Woman and men shouldn’t be choosing partners by their fame, money, the views of their friends who judge by appearances only, or even by their job, hair cut, tattoos etc. All these are the wrong reasons. God looks at a persons heart and soul. God also knows their future which you do not, and if God chooses you someone be sure that regardless of outside appearances you will be happy with this person because God ordained the relationship and blessed the marriage.
God’s way are not our ways. In verse 6 we read:
1 Samuel Chapter 16, verse 6: And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’S anointed is before him.
Eliab was everything that Samuel expected of a leader. Simply by looking at Eliab Samuel had come to that conclusion. Strong and tall was Eliab, surely this must be the man! But Samuel was forgetting one thing. God is well known for choosing people who are humble and not known by society and God raises them higher and higher as their own faith grows day by day. God likes to raise the humble, honest and those with a good loving heart. Why?
Because God knows that this person will not fail Him. This person will continue onward for God’s will and God needs to know that He can trust this person forever and always. God does not raise the proud, the arrogant, or the lost and foolish. God will find some person seen as lowly and use that faithful person to help many others in His work. Humble caring people are not interested in rewards, they are interested in seeing people relieved of their suffering and pains, and they are interested in doing God’s work with love in their hearts and teaching Salvation.
Go for the heart every time if you really want to be happy. Follow God’s Will for your life to be truly blessed.
God is interested good decent people helping Him to help you and the world, people with these attributes:
Galatians Chapter 5, verse 22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
God wants us all like this.
Colossians Chapter 3, verses 12-17: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
God looks into the heart. If you really do want the best for yourself then pray and follow God totally with faith.
