When we first come to God in prayers we can sometimes assume that we can tell God what we want, and what should be done, and what God should do about it. And we do assume such things at times because we are always told by society that ‘we are in control of our own lives and that we can do anything.’ .
We need to be aware that God knows our worries before we take them to Him. Plans are in progress for our lives, but we must be patient as they take time to put together and many peoples lives are affected by simple changes that God puts into place. We need to ask God to guide our steps, to put us on the right paths for the sake of His will for our life and to help God put together plans for other peoples lives.

James Chapter 5, verse 15: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
We sometimes go to God in prayers with the belief that we are in a position to tell God what is right, what should be done, and many other things that we really have no idea about. Going from the teachings of society to the teachings of life can be confusing and we have to step down the ladder a fair bit to a more humble level so that we can learn what really goes on in the world. Our old opinions need casting aside (and the views and opinions of our families and old friends) forever while we learn the new Belief-System that is reality. This for many people is a struggle, but it must be done if we are to learn about and understand who God really is and what God can do to help us avoid the tangled web that evil had us in.
We need to come to God in prayers at the start of the day with an honest heart, a caring soul and a will to follow the Holy Spirit. We need a genuine will to do good all day and be true to God. For what chance has God to bring us happiness if our will is to bring unhappiness to others? Can we expect gold from dirt?
Now keep in mind that God already has a destiny for you. But if you keep going off the path, and deliberately choosing sinful choices, what chance has God of giving you a blessed life of goodness?

Proverbs Chapter 15, verse 8 …the prayer of the upright is his delight.

To be blessed we need to make our own efforts to stay on the right path. We have to try. If we don’t try our prayers are in vain. For God to help us reach our destiny we need to think like God, be good like God, appreciate and love God with faith and hope in God’s abilities.

James Chapter 5, verse 16: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

We have a lot to look forward to if we cast away the past and follow the Good Lord into the future. Be brave, you have chosen a new life, a good life, a life worth knowing and being a part of.
