We are to be Humble and Submissive to hear God.
We cannot hear if we are talking loud and aggressively full of assertiveness and words. In the quite of our hearts we hear God – in that silence He will let us know what to do. All the negative emotions and feelings block out the wisdom of God, instead the proud only hear themselves.
Proverbs Chapter 2, verse 6/7:
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
Psalm 34, verse 2:
…the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
To submit does not mean to bow our heads as slaves to God.
It means that God will lead us because He sees all (not like we humans who see little around us), He hears all (even the words of our enemies as they plot against us), He knows all (we do not and our enemies do not) – it is wiser to submit to (to let) the one who sees all, hears all, and knows all than to rely on our very own limited understandings and instead submit to our own wild-imaginings of what is going on around us.
To submit is a good wise thing to do to the right source. To be humble in heart and soul and submit to God is a good thing indeed. It is mankind’s imaginings, lostness and causes that keep us away from the truth of God and away from very promising futures under the guidance of our Lord Christ. Follow the ways of Christ and you cannot go wrong – to do this you must submit, trust, have faith, love, in the one showing you the way.
Part of submitting is to follow His laws to your best abilities. One other thing, the opinions of others, and the opinions of your life can keep your opinions guiding you – better to leave your life in the safe hands of God than in the fate of the wild imaginations of mankind’s dreams and desires which are often focused on personal fortune and fame.
Proverbs Chapter 1, verse 5:
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
Proverbs Chapter 5, verse 1-2:
My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
James Chapter 4, verse 7:
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Psalm 69, verse 32:
The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
