I was doing the dishes a little while ago and I remembered the time that the tap top came off in the Laundry room in the house.
I heard my daughter Rachel screaming for me, so I knew that something had gone wrong and I ran into the house and found her in the laundry room drenched, with her hand over the cold water tap, and I looked up and saw the water was all over the wall and the fuse box, I grabbed the broom and flicked the main fuse switch up to cut off the house electricity but behind the Fuse Box door was the mains wires. It was only a matter of time until she would be electrocuted.
I grabbed her, pushed her out the door, grabbed the top of the tap to stop the water shooting upwards and yelled at her to get a adjustable spanner and screwdriver from the garage, and off she went.
I did the best that I could to stop the water shooting out of the top if the tap from hitting the Fuse Box but things were not looking good as I glanced at the Fuse Box and saw that it was covered in water.
When Rachel brought the tools to me I managed to secure the top of the double-laundry tap back on.
I read about a guy who was an electrician who hopped into a bath with a live toaster and didn’t get electrocuted because of Earth etc, but I would never do that or trust the wires, Earth, and so on.
So maybe that helped us in this situation I didn’t know, but what I do know is that I didn’t even consider my dying right them and there, what I did consider was my daughter possibly dying and changed positions with her instantly without a thought.
The reason I thought of this incident was I was asking myself if I would give my life to protect another, and then that memory popped into my mind. We, you and me, we all probably have remainders of our courage but we pout them aside and forget about them. And then when we think abut our courage or what we think is our lack of courage we can doubt ourselves and whether we are up to saving and protecting our own children and other people, yet we should already know that we will and that we are up to the occasion in the future.
Your past is your proof of how well you will do in the future, and what we can do with this is to try to make sure our future is peppered with courageous moments.
Please remember that the world becomes a better place with courage, faith, and a desire to go the hard way to make the world of security and safety that we wanted it to be as children.
All the best from
