The point is that no one is alive who was a slave, thus they don’t deserve anything. Some people want millions of dollars because someone in their family a century or so back was a slave, but was that slave a millionaire, nope, so since today’s people were not ripped off of millions of dollars of inheritance they shouldn’t get paid out in money, but guess what, today they are free, so they should be grateful for that and leave it at that.

You may not feel that you deserve much,
but be assured that it is human nature to look forward to better things.
♦
It should be a comforting thought to know that things could be better, and that we could be better people.
We should want to be respected and loved.
We like to love and enjoy peoples company.
We like to experiment, to discover and explore.
It is natural to want to be closer to God.
Desiring a peaceful life that has meaning is normal.
Wanting a happy marriage and a good family is a natural thing to want.
Self correction is normal.
Adjusting from one situation to another is natural.
Wanting to be a better person is normal too.
It is natural to make mistakes. A mature person will make mistakes and feel happy that they have eliminated one attempt to try something, now they will try something else.
Mature stable people see mistakes as a part of learning. Immature people laugh at peoples mistakes.
If we have a hard life and bad upbringing then we often don’t know how to use our natural skills, we don’t believe in ourselves, and because of this we fail ourselves.
If you want to be a more pleasant humble person then continue on that path. Desire to fill the soul with new learning that will bring you closer to God.
Believe that you deserve better. You deserve as much as anyone else. Be sure of that.
Believe God. He says that you are forgiven, now act like you are gratefully forgiven and improve you and your life. Accept God’s blessings always. If God says that you deserve it then you do.

Psalm 23, verses 1 – 6:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Blessed are they who tenderly seek to comfort another and never run out of compassion and grace. –
Janet L Weaver Smith.
