Q: Why should you love God before anyone else in the world?
A: We all love our family members and friends, but people on earth are still people, and people suffer from the effects of a material world. Many a good Christian has suffered badly because of a family member.
The material world offers many things for us to do and have: Good and Bad.
Sometimes the people we love go “astray” and do things that they shouldn’t, loving God before anyone else give you protection from humans trying to involve you in things they shouldn’t be doing themselves. Even if they are family.
Your brother Jack has decided to gamble with his friends after school or at lunchtime at school to raise money for a new skate board. This is not a good way for Jack to get a new skate board, Jack knows it but the temptation of winning other children’s lunch money is a tad to much. Easy money he thinks.
Jack decides that in order to win he needs someone to “check” the other children’s cards and since you are his sister, you should be the one to do it. Everyone likes you and everyone knows that you are honest. Jack puts you on the spot and makes you feel very guilty for even considering “not” to do it.
But if you actively admit that you love God before anyone else then you will pray to God and ask for help and guidance on this issue. You will find it much easier to say no without feeling guilty.
People on earth are subject to weaknesses, God is not.
Q: Does God really give us guidance if we ask for it?
A: According to millions (if not billions) of Christians world-wide the answer is “Yes”.
There are many different views about this, I will mention some of them here.
Some people believe that Angels or Good Spirits come to you to guide you but only if you ask for guidance. Some people think that God can telepathically send messages to your soul to help you and give you advice with your life.
Q: What is the best time to ask for help or guidance?
But if you pray at night you can ask questions about a problem you are having when you pray just before you go to bed. You can also ask yourself a question just before you doze off.
Q: Why do Believers hassle me?
A: They want you to come to follow Christ and this is because they love you and care for your life here and now, and for eternity.
Being a very good example of love in the community, caring for others, being non-judgmental and fair with people will show people that you are walking in love and actively showing this in all things that you do.
