Sailing on a ship was a married couple with a young baby daughter.

There was an accident and the ship was sinking.

The married couple had to run to a nearly full life boat.

After reaching the life boat they realized that there was space only for one adult person carrying the baby daughter.

At that moment, in a rush as the ship was going down fast the husband pushed his wife behind him and jumped

onto lifeboat himself with the baby daughter.

His wife stood on the sinking ship and she shouted one sentence to her husband.”

-

Here the teacher stopped and asked her students,

What do you think she shouted to her husband as the ship was sinking and taking her to her death?”

Most students answered, “I hate you!!”

After listening to all the students replies the teacher noticed that there was a boy sitting silently throughout the discussion saying nothing.

She asked him what he thought the wife yelled to her husband.

The boy answered, “Teacher. I believe she would have shouted – Take care of our baby.”

Listening to this teacher was surprised and asked boy, “Have you heard this story before?

The boy shook his head and said, “No I haven't but that’s what my mother told my father before she died of cancer.

The teacher nodded sadly and said, “Your answer is correct.

She continued to the class, “The ship sank, and the man went home and brought up their daughter alone. Many years later after the death of man, the daughter was tiding up his belongings where she found his diary. In the diary she found that when her parents where on the ship that sunk, her mother was already diagnosed with a terminal illness and at the critical moment (the ship was sinking fast) the father tearfully rushed onto the life boat doing the only logical thing. This way one of the parents would bring up the child. If she had survived the sinking of the ship she would not have lived very long afterwards due to her terminal illness, so as they had previously discussed and agreed that if the ship went down the husband would be the one to survive if things got desperate, for the child's sake."

The teacher continued, "In his diary the man wrote about how he wished he could sink to the bottom of ocean with his wife but for sake of their daughter he had to live."

When the teachers explanation was finished the class was silent and sadly thoughtful.

The teacher knew that the students had understood the moral of story.

Moral:

It is easy to judge people, a situation, and why people do what they do without asking them or finding out the true facts.

Oftentimes what looks like a bad thing is often done for a really good reason, it is just that from where you

or I am looking the situation looks different from what really happened.

Please don't judge people without asking them first what really happened, ask the person why, and get the

real truth.
