When we leave home we can find it very tempting to keep relying on our parents.
Many parents desire that their adult-children keep relying on them, it means that they feel still important to their children and its good for their belief in themselves as parents.
While the temptation is very strong to keep going to parents for help, advice, backup, financial help, it is far more important for our own personal growth in courage and confidence to deny ourselves this desire and instead be responsible and sort out our own lives ourselves.
As a child we discovered that we grew in confidence, knowledge and wisdom by trial and error, we cannot learn or grow any further if we are relying on our parents to help us when we should be being responsible to help ourself, learn relearn, stumble and try again until we can sort out our own lives ourselves.
Life is never going to get better for you where your confidence and courage are concerned unless you learn to stand on your own two legs as an adult on your own, or with your partner in marriage.
Even though your parents may be persistent, pushy, and seem often concerned, you still need to let them know that you will be making your own choices so you can learn whats right for you without other people interfering, learning as you go along by trial and error, and you will be a far better person for this.
The temptation to live for entertainment may seem exciting, but planning, designing, and preparing for the future is far more rewarding in the long run and gives you confidence and more courage as your life goes in the general direction yu planned for while your mates from school spent their weekends on frivolous activities.
Let the good times roll, should be the day you buy your car cash, but a house cash because you had the wisdom to work, save, and prepare your future.
Add up what the average young adult spends on entertainment each year and you realise that all those thousands of dollars if saved bring forth a much more enjoyable future.
