Ichthus - The Christian Fish...:
The Fish - The Christian symbol was a fish at one time in history.

Some call it the Ichthus symbol.

At times in history early Christians were sometimes persecuted for their beliefs.
The first Christians used the fish so that they knew who was who, or who was a Christian because the Christian would use the symbol of the fish to identify them self.

Some Christians even met in the catacombs beneath the grand city of Rome, they held secret services of worship.

Using a fish symbol is logical when you read about Christians, for example:
They were to become fishers of men.
They caught many fish with the help of Jesus.
Jonah in the big fish.
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts,
another of fishes, and another of birds.
The fish fed the many and so on...

When a Christian met another Christian while travelling along the same stretch of road one would draw half the fish in the dirt and if the other person drew the other side of the fish
(a simple arc really) then they new that each was a Christian and they both held the same beliefs and were good company for each other for the rest of the journey.

People today sometimes use the fish symbol to show others that they are practising Christians, so it is a sign of who they are.

Try your best to be the best that you can be - fear is just a test - pass that test and you have conquered another challenge.

Fear was not created by good but by the opposite - God gives us the tools to combat fear.
Fear holds us back,
