A Jack in the Box.

This is a simple yet fun children’s project that can be put into a small box and when the box is opened the “Jack”, the face within, will jump out and hopefully surprise someone.

Take a piece of paper, and a ruler, and then rule a line the width of the ruler – you can experiment with widths if you like.

Like This all the way until no paper is left.

You can fold the bit left over, or use sticky tape to tape it down top and bottom.
When folding these I try not to press down too far so that the paper retains its bend and springiness.
You can use printed smiley faces, printed real people’s faces, or just draw some as I did.
