A materialistic Childish Apathetic Society tends to look down on people who repair items and admire those who throw away and then buy brand new. This is much like the mass adoration for wealthy people who hoard and selfishly waste money and how society shuns (looks down on as inferior) the hard working not-so-wealthy person.
Empathetic People seek a healthy planet for those in the future. So they look for ways to (not to save money) repair what they have that breaks so that they don’t, as best as they can, not contribute to the world-wide rubbish problems, and also polluting the planet.
We need to remember that there is no shame in repairing, and in fact it is a skill that materialism kills off mostly.
When we repair what we have that breaks we become mentally clever, we test our mind, body and soul, and try to find inventive clever ways to fix what breaks.
Repairing what breaks is like gardening, it is good for the mind, body and soul, gives one a reason for working the Mind, and facing challenges.
Including your own children from a young age when you repair broken things causes them to see the value in success, thinking, completing a task, and much more, while also feeling like he or she has done well doing what his or her parents do, and being a worthy helpful useful member of the family.
The more the parents see this sort of success in their children the more they appreciate their own children, and the more they can trust them to do tasks, face challenges, learn how to use tools and such, and be inventive.
