How to make use of a Laptop Hard Drive.

If your Laptop has died and cannot be used anymore, you can still possibly use the Hard Drive in the Laptop. So if the technician says that the laptop is dead tell he or she that you want the laptop anyway, even if it is dead.

Take the Laptop and flip it over. Take out the battery unit. You should (hopefully) find a rectangle cover with screws in it. Take the screws out and there should be your small hard drive.
How this is done depends on what make and model of Laptop you have, so do check in the manual or on the Internet.

Now you will need a 2.5″ HDD Case.

Image 2 shows us an external 2.5″ HDD drive case.
Image 3 shows the case open to receive the hard drive from your old or broken Laptop.

Image 5 shows the 2,5″ HHD in place in the External Drive Case.
It is very simple to insert the drive. Once in place the cover is put into place and the USB Cable plugged in its place.

To use the drive is very simple. Just plug the USB cable connected to the External Case and the computer should recognize the drive and you can use it.

If your Laptop was broken the valuable files can possibly be recovered using an external drive case and the hard drive that was in the laptop.
