I have not read the article, but my belief is that people are losing faith in the established church system, much the same as at the time of the ministry of Jesus and when Martin Luther stirred up the hypocrisy of the church.
It is not God that they are turning from, they are turning from the God that human written doctrines promote. It is not the true Jesus that they are turning from, but the Jesus who is mass idolised world wide – the total opposite of the teachings of Jesus.
It seems that we have become as they were in Jesus’ time. So many churches, denominations, false doctrines, and churches being entertainment centers and businesses. With so many, who is right, who is wrong, and how many are sitting on the fence. Who can God trust.
For sentimental reasons, friends, and traditions, we may have faith in the churches, but do you really think God cares about that when they are making no difference in the world?
The pathetic excuse that Jesus did it all so we don’t need to do anything but wait for Jesus to come back because Jesus will fix it all up is causing a mass of comfort zone scared weak believers.
.
Wasn’t it the Jews that thought that the Messiah was going to come back and be a warrior etc. Is this all the same thing?
Look at the churches everywhere that oppose the others teachings. Which ones would God send the new believer too? If they oppose each other then only one can be right, or maybe none? Maybe God would send the people to a nobody (like Jesus) who fight to to a church, because they were all corrupt!
All the best from James Martin Sandbrook.
