There was this man and woman who were to be married.

She was pushing and pushing for the wedding to be soon. He was jumping to all that she said, doing all he could to please her and to make her happy. She was attractive and all that he thought that he wanted in a woman, but things just didn’t feel right.

But as the wedding date came near he realised that she felt in a way that he didn’t feel. He had only known her a short while anyway, and he wanted to know her more to make sure that it wasn’t a mistake. So this seems to give the impression that he had doubts in the back of his mind while he was doing all that he could to please her.

It got so bad that she was running his life, his business, and everything that he was doing. If people wanted to do things with him, like old friends etc, he had to clear it with her first.

So he finally got up the courage to face her on this. He canceled the wedding date, and he told her that they needed to see each other for a while to get to know one another (probably to find out if his doubts about her character or intentions etc were something important). It was all about standing strong, facing his true feelings, and even if it hurt her feelings he wanted to know where he really stood on their relationship.

She was pushing him into everything. Now if both of them wanted the wedding and felt good about it then it was fine. But if there is a situation where their thoughts are not balanced then something is wrong, and thankfully he picked up on that and decided that he was being pushed fast into something he wasn’t really sure about, and the wedding was cancelled for now.

Please always take your time. Don’t rush. Listen, learn, get to now the other person’s character, family, friends, hobbies, habits etc.

Life is not about rushing, and if you feel pushed, rushed and shoved, stop and step back and give yourself all the time in the world that you need to get the situation right in your mind. If people are pushing you, they will have an agenda that is to suit them, not to suit you.

So tell pushy people, even family, even parents, to back off. You will do what you will do in your time. It is your life. Your life is not for others to run. My advice is stay strong.
