One of the deceiving tricks of the narcissist is to pretend to do the victim favours.
It is to make the victim think that the narcissist is kind, honourable, and really cares for the victim.
°
Example:
Victim likes to shop at a shop on the north side of town, but narcissist shops mostly on the south side of town at a favorite place.
The narcissist needs something that only the shop that the victim goes to has. This is out off the way for the narcissist when she goes to work. So she will ask the victim if they want anything in town, maybe something from the victims favourite store. The victim is overwhelmed with appreciation and thankful, says that she wants such and such, and then spends the entire day with pleasant thoughts of the narcissist.
After work the narcissist picks up what she wanted and what the victim wanted, gets home and makes out that it was an honour to go out of her way for the victim.
The victim sees the narcissist as someone who sacrifices for the victim. Just as the narcissist wants the victim to think.
Is all smoke and mirrors, trickery, and carefully planned events to make the victim feel loved, and in good hands, while the narcissist sharpens their claws.
