Over the years I have had more Christians walk away from me than I can remember. I became philosophical about it and realised that it was just as much their journey as well.
What I mean is that while I am struggling, poor and needy, and the “good folk” of the church turn away to their fine dinners and foods, God is looking down and has been writing in a book book about their behaviour and what they are doing to people like me. And then God will set about trying to fix them.
Christians that don’t help are a curse to God. They think that they are fine, and strong and have more than enough for themselves, but the reality is that the abundance that they get is because they are supposed to share. They share a selfish greedy example to the world.
Our new Pastor likes to say how he has never ever gone without all his days since coming to God, but Job did, and Job was strong enough to endure a different journey and God knows that and that is why God allowed Job to suffer that way. My journey and the Pastors journey are far different.
So I realise that part of my journey in life is to help God test people, especially proud Christians who believe falsely that they are in God’s good books, but they reality is that they are choosing who to help (God knows the heart and our real situation, so God should choose obviously) and they are hoarding their money and goods for themselves. We know about the rich man, and the chap with the barn, these foolish people claim that Jesus did it all and that they can continue being selfish, in due time they will find that God is not to pleased with them at all.
It is not just our faith that ensures that we are being in favour with God and blessed, it is who God knows that we are, and how God knows that we are, that we don’t know how strong that we are.
You are far stronger than you think. And the Christians or people that walk away from you are weak, they can’t handle the tasks set before them, especially the tasks of being loving and helpful to people in need.
So please don’t worry about it, same thing happens to me all the time. I know that many of these people, if not all, couldn’t handle my life, they would buckle down and collapse, and that is why I have the life that I have. And I know that God thinks that I am strong enough for the tasks set ahead of me, and He puts me through this for the better of others, and I can live with that.
All the best from James M Sandbrook.
