People can Invent Their Own fears.
Years ago I was in a car with a woman coming back from Rotorua.
On the way back she suddenly put her hands to her face and screamed. Naturally I figured in that fraction of a second that there was something in front of the car that she had seen and I had not seen so I swerved on to the other side of the road since there was no other traffic on the road.
On the other side of the road I hit an animal, I forget which, a possum, rabbit, or whatever.
Bewildered I asked her why she screamed and she said that she saw the animal and thought that i might hit it. I mentioned that the animal was in fact on the other side of the road.
And she said she just panicked.
From then on she sort of became irrationally scared of my driving. It was very weird. But she, in her mind, became nervous when she was in the car with me, and in her mind she saw many potential accidents ahead that were never going to be an accident, unless she freaked out and panicked and then made me take evasive action to miss whatever she was afraid of happening and then me possibly actually having a real accident.
After much conversation I discovered that her fears were already well within her mind before she met me, and it all came from an accident she had years earlier.\
But with me, once she had decided irrationally, that I was going to crash, hit something, kill an animal she would panic, even though there is absolutely nothing to panic about.
Recently, another person I know has created the exact same situation and panics when I drive over things that have no chance of being an accident, but this person thinks that they will and thus freaks out.
If a person is left to continue such fears then he or she will believe that every near-miss (which was not even a contender for being an accident) ifs proof that the person is a bad driver. This is the Imagination working with Irrational-fears to crate a belief that is Untrue.
And this is also why you will meet a person who thinks very bad or fearfully of someone, and another who totally and completely trusts that person. The person in question does not have two characters, its just that due to the mental condition of the two people who judge that person they come up with totally different views of that person in some way. Such as one thinks that the person is a dangerous driver and the other thinks that the person is the safest person on the road.
We all have things go wrong, and the sort, no one is perfect, but there are also people who see’s things in us that are not there at all, and there is nothing we can do about it because the issue is with the other person’s mind and imagination.
This is also another reason why we should always be careful about what we believe when other people tell us stories, because the real issue could be that other persons own mental state, imagination, and thoughts at that time.
