Blue Yeti Microphone from Blue Microphones

This just arrived this morning by Courier from PB Tech.
First impressions was that the box is heavy.

You also get a small book with instructions.

The Yeti is heavy, good quality, and not easily knocked around like its plastic competitors. I was going to consider the nano version which is cheaper and nearly as good, but the quality is not so good.

The Blue Yeti, claimed by some to be the best, has a Mute button the front. Imagine you are Podcasting, conducting an interview, or anything that is live, and you are about to sneeze. Just hit the Mute Button before the sneeze, then hit it again after the sneeze and the listeners won’t hear anything.

The Blue Yeti is a sight to see as well. The design of the unit is very nice and would look good on any desktop or in any studio.

I read that you can sing and talk on this, also play the guitar and it sounds good.

The Blue Yeti can be removed from its stand and be put on another stand due to it having a Standard Thread Mount. For Broadcast applications, they recommend the Compass desktop boom arm.
To isolate the Yeti from noise, shock and ambient vibration, add the radius III shock-mount.

For me it is fine in its original mount on the desktop.

On the front is a Volume Knob for headphones if you want to use them with the yeti The Headphone connector is at the bottom of the Yeti Microphone, you just plug the headphones in.

On the back of the Yeti Microphone is a Gain Control Knob for Sensitivity, and under that a Pattern Control, which is a very useful feature.

Underneath the Yeti Microphone is also the USB Connection Socket.
All you need to do is plug the Yeti Microphone into your computer USB port and thats it, it runs up immediately.

These are not cheap microphones, yet they give good quality sound. many people in reviews claim that the Blue Yeti Microphone is far clearer and better quality than their more expensive microphones.

The sound quality in my tests have been impressive.
This is a nice addiction to my computer desktop that is attractive, solid, useful, easy to setup and use.

All the best from
James M Sandbrook.
