Hoover Powerscrub XL Pet Carpet Cleaner Machine

I decided it was time to get a carpet cleaner. I did some research on the Internet and this Hoover kept getting very good reviews – its the Hoover Powerscrub XL Pet Carpet Cleaner Machine

Mine arrived in a strong sturdy box. It was well packed and in good condition.

To apply water and solution you press the trigger moving the machine slowly forward and then release the trigger to stop applying solution and go backwards over the wet carpet or mat sucking up the dirty water etc.

The Hoover PowerScrub XL Carpet Washer

I have some mats that are large and cannot be cleaned on the carpet cleaning machines that have spinning rollers due to the long strands getting stuck in the rollers. But the The Hoover PowerScrub XL Carpet Washer has 5 SpinScrub Brushes at the front, bottom of the machine, that spin and scrub the carpet and mats, and does well with the shaggy carpets.

The machine works well. You may not think that it is doing a good job until you look at the tank that holds the dirty water. Its amazing just how much this machine can get out of the carpet.

The first carpet I tried the machine on was short and has been there for a decade or so and was cleaned a while back, years ago, hence my wanting my own carpet cleaner and not renting one.

The machine worked wonders, and the free bottle of carpet cleaner does a good job and the smell afterwards is nice.

You can use any carpet cleaner solution with this carpet cleaner or make your own as many have done.

Due to my carpet and mats having kittens and cats on them for years and my previous cleaning method was hiring a carpet cleaner machine or getting on my knee’s on the carpet with a bucket of warm soapy water and a scrubber, it was a pure delight to use this Hoover and get the job done thoroughly.

Hoover Power Scrub XL Carpet Washer

The carpet cleaner comes with some very useful attachments for cleaning chairs, couches and so on, also they are good for small mats. I tried all of them out and found them very helpful.
The hose (like a vacuum hose) has a button on it so that when you are using the attachment you can spray cleaner mixed with water on the material and then tip the attachment. press down, and the dirty water is sucked back into the machine in to the dirty water container.

The two water tanks, one for clean water with cleaner in it, and the other gets the returned dirty water, are both of good size and so there are few times to empty the dirty container or fill the clean water container.

Clean Water Capacity: 3.75 L

Dirty Water Capacity: 2.75 L

There is a Quick Clean Mode and a Deep Clean Mode for the stubborn jobs.

The power cord length is a good 9 M and the hose for the attachments is a nice 3.5 M. Both offering freedom to move about freely.

Unit weight is 9.1 kg.

I have watched a few reviews of this carpet cleaner and some of the other units have less features, probably older modals.

I have not seen one negative review on the various versions of this Hoover Carpet Cleaner, this gives a clean indication that people rely on and like this carpet cleaner. So far I feel the same. This is a helpful machine and does the job well, and leave the carpets and mats looking clean and smelling clean.
