Religion Prevents True Love?

On one of the Facebook pages that I am an Admin on a person commented:

‘I think religion separates humanity, and sometimes prevents TRUE love, peace, and serenity.’

This was my reply:

“It is not religion as itself – human’s ability to turn Truth to lies and lies to truth which is for personal gain has given many a “religion” a chance to make gains on the innocent and cause strife and misery. There is no hope or love in such a situation, there is only hope and love in true belief in God.

I like that saying, “Don’t look up to find God, look in your heart!” Meaning your spiritual heart and soul. There you will find God. But to do this you must empty your cup as the Chinese say. Remove all that defensive armour and bad attitudes that have grown with you through your lifetime. Discard the trash and become new all over again in the tender loving arms of God.”

After reading what I wrote the same person replied with:

‘You couldn’t be more right. :)’

Inspired by the man’s reply I posted this here on my Facebook wall. I hope that it was helpful to you. Like the times of Jesus here on earth there were lost religions, and people claiming to know and love God. But the fruit of love is what shows of their efforts – not if they are a big successful church in mankind’s ways. The bigger the church and the more money it makes and how it runs itself is not God’s choice. Honestly even if there were no building but people were coming to know Christ and lives were lifted then a building is nothing but a gathering place. Its the heart and soul that count – those are what Satan is after.

Satan wants us to close our hearts to love, because God is love, the Bible tells us so. God wants us to open our hearts. A reading of history will show some stunning evil that was done in the name of God by people claiming to know God. But I tell you this, if they do not know love, then they cannot know God. If they use force or evil for evil then they cannot know God.

Only those who have a growth in bringing Salvation and love to people will truly be doing God’s will. Let us preach of love and understanding for one another. empathy and care.

Psalm 119, verses 10-16: With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

All the best from James M Sandbrook.
