While out of Security Patrol I am required to wear a mask during the Covid levels. But that introduced a problem in my life where I was losing my mask all the time. A workmate gave me a simple but comfortable black material mask which I found to be much more comfortable that the standard paper–one-use-types of masks. Because I kept losing this mask I decided to find something to sew on the mask so that it could hang around my neck.
I wear Prescription Spectacles and sometimes (especially when exercising like cycling) use spectacles lanyard to make sure I don’t drop my glasses, and it occurred to me to just use one of those to hold my mask on.

Image 1 shows the type of Mask I am writing about and Image 2 shows the Spectacles lanyard I bought for my eye-glasses. The idea was simple. Just sew them together. You can sew them by hand or use a sewing machine. I used my sewing machine.

Image 3 and Image 4 show the Spectacles Lanyard sewed to the mask. This is a very practical idea, as the mask is always on you. I tend to tuck the Mask under my collar so it is out of the way until I need to use it.
I hope you found this useful. You can use anything to sew the mask to, even a shoelace or chain necklace. You could even tie something like a shoelace to the mask.
