Recently I had a kitten here at home that kept climbing into the engine bay of the security car. I would remove the kitten and drive off.
The kittens playing under and around the car got so bad that everytime I got in to the car I would have to get the hose and squirt water under the car to make the cats/kittens run away.
Yesterday I noticed that the kitten was not here, and it was a very small but very agile and active kitten. I checked the car engine bay area, but didn’t see the kitten in there.
And since then (yesterday) I have not seen the kitten.
This kitten was doomed to get either killed by the engine or driven away and dropped on the road or got out somewhere else away from home. The car is a hybrid, so the petrol engine is not always going, so the moving parts are not always going – so maybe the kitten survived.
The point is, is that no matter what I did to help or protect the kitten it completely refused to be educated or to listen and now I have no idea whether the kitten is alive or dead or even where the kitten is.
The simple facts are though, that whatever happened to the kitten was the kittens own fault.
About 4-5 years ago a neighbours kitten got run over in my driveway when it was sleeping under one of the car wheels. It would do this often. So I was in the habit of checking each wheel and chasing the kitten away. But even with all that effort, one night I was called for an alarm, was tired and accidentally run over the kitten killing it.
This type of “fate” is like the child that we are always trying to stop doing something dangerous and the child thinks that it is all fun, until he or she finally falls out the window or gets hurt doing what we kept trying to stop the child doing.
Some, be they human or animal, are going to meet their doomed fate because they refuse to see the foolishness in their actions, and those of us who see their direction of doom that they are heading on, may try and try to help and protect the doomed, but they refuse to listen and go foolishly to their doomed fate.
I used to feel very guilty and tell myself that I hadn’t done enough when this sort of situation comes up from time to time with humans or animals.
But the reality I now understand is, that these people/animals are so constantly persistent in their foolishness that they simply cannot be educated by anything that anyone else does to lead them away from the disaster that they are heading for.
As long as I am satisfied with my efforts and I did try hard to help change the person or animals path, then I have no reason for any guilt, because I did my best in a situation where I really did try.
The fault of the issue is in the persistence of the person or animal to keep on the path that leads to whats going to happen to them. And no one but that person or animal can change that.
So please, be like me, try your best, but don’t feel that you failed that person or animal, or that you could have done better, be realistic, you did your best, the others doomed soul did not listen.
You did your best to help that person or animal, and your best was good enough, but the doomed person or animal would not listen, what happens to them is all on them.
