This is a coating of positive motivation designed to make a person feel capable of dealing with life, and capable of improving their future.
It is about learning to believe in yourself. But if the person has mental health issues, emotional imbalances, then the Sugar-coated Motivation will get cracks in the surface as life gets tough for the motivated person.
Giving a person affirmations, pats on the back, new clothing, and telling them all sorts of wonderful things about them, while trying to make them into a well organised person will for a while make them feel positive about life.
But when the going gets tough the cracks in the sugar coating appear and we end up with the same person and with the same issues that they had before the motivation training. But this time they will be more miserable because they will feel more of a failure.
One of the failings of motivation classes is that they are about you accepting the world as it is today. To support the motivation techniques you need to believe in material living, capitalism (going for the career, status and money etc), you have to believe in the present Society and the political system running the country.
Motivation is about beefing up your attitude to life (current Society) and learning to cope with it in a most unnatural positive manner so that when obstacles come your way you will be tough enough to walk all over them and move on to financial and mental success.
It is about wanting to be admired (vanity, selfishness etc), money, successful (fame, fortune) and it is about conforming blindly to the world as it is today. It is about putting yourself first before others so that you can have what they call a successful career etc.
The motivation techniques used to motivate and inspire people to “better things” is failing the people on a large scale. What they really need is personal help from someone who cares, who will teach them how to regrow and start life out again confident and able.
If you have struggles in your life then there is a reason for this. If you have emotional imbalances, and emotional issues they can be sorted out.
But please understand that coating your mind with motivation won’t solve a thing, and in the long-run it will make things worse for you.
When we need genuine help, we need genuine help.
All the best from James M Sandbrook.
