The fear of God is something people have an issue with.

 Satan is the Lord of Darkness, so obviously we fear that Lord of evil. We fear that we turn away from God enough for God to turn His back on us (because God cannot be a part of evil) and then evil will have its way with us.

Even 2 seconds, 5 seconds, is enough to turn our own life into terrible tragedy and long term suffering.

We need to be wise enough to let evil have no time in our lives.

We need to fear the chastising of God in our life. Like any parent God will put us back on track, and sometimes He must be rough to stop us teaching a greater tragedy.

Remember, as it is shown in the Bible, God will allow the bad guys, the non-believers, to teach us a lesson to lower our pride, and to wake us up to our foolishness.

You can feel confident, popular, having enjoyable times, but it can all be leading to a life of hell.

And while you are enjoying life people around you are suffering, so you are showing God how much compassion that you have for the suffering, and you are giving God a clear sign how much you wish God to have compassion on your future.

You get what you put into it.
Your actions, or lack of action, shows God what you really believe. Your prayers and talk may say one thing, but your actions show your true feelings, or lack of feelings for others.
