I just found this and wondered since it seems clear that I am testing this email address, was it when I started my Gmail account?
jms@xtra.co.nz has not be active for about 10 years I suppose, a long time. And sandbrook@jamessandbroo.co.nz is my old website which does not exist anymore either, for probably 6-8 years.
If the general public of all walks of life can be taught to be immoral, indecent, kill the innocent, then they can also be taught to desire what they should not desire and to ignore what they truly want, love and need.
We live in a time where society is heavily leaning towards the masses having things done for them and less thinking needed. Such as all the “intelligence” that computing has achieved in the world, automatic everything’s, cars driving themselves, and many many hours of the average person sitting in front of a TV being mindlessly entertained. In these activities people don’t need to think, they just observe, are entertained.
Our lives in days of old were more about survival, so if you wanted to live you had to be acutely aware of all around you at all times day and night, you had to be sensitive to what your mind, body and senses were telling you, because if you get it wrong you could be viciously mauled and eaten by some ferocious beast. Parents stuck close together in life, were very connected and protected their young at all costs.
Today it is the opposite in many ways, and while many people get stoned, drunk for many hours a week on top of all that being entertained, and going to work for 8 hours a day or more in a job they don’t enjoy, its just a week/life of little thinking, doing what we don’t want, and very little challenging ourselves.
In this mental state the people are easily led, they believe everything that they are told, they are conformers and attack people who are not conformers, but the real dangerous thing is that we now have many decades (since the 1950’s) of people who have become submissive, they think, but they don’t do a lot of it, and certainly they don’t think out of the square/box.
Take masses of people who are in this submissive mental state and ask them to vote in a leader and they will vote in a person who pleases the eyes, ears, vanity, pride and so on, but not necessary the person who is capable of doing a good job in power.
Masses of easy-going-thoughtless (without consideration of the possible consequences) people destroy Democracy because they really submit to the status quo and living the good life. In other words masses of people voting who don’t know much about whats going on are not going to vote intelligently or with any real investigation into the political candidates or party they are voting for.
All the best from James Martin Sandbrook.
