The woman in marriage is instead of stepping upward in society, she is instead felt sorry for.
People think of what she could have had “if” she hadn’t gone ‘with him’ and ‘had those children. She, it seems, has made an un-imaginal sacrifice and gone against ‘logic’ to marry a man and have children.
History shows us as a lesson that a woman is a “part of a family”. She, like any part of anything, is special. She is a part that is needed to help the family to cope with life. Take her away and we have a struggling family.
