Many people think we should still be using Morse Code because of the small amount of electrical power needed to send this sort of signal over a large distance and Morse Code has saved many peoples lives in many different situations all over the world.
Still the powers that be have made the decision for us - But there is nothing to stop you learning Morse Code for fun, and you never know, it may be very helpful one day.
(My children and I had the Morse keys and we learned Morse Code. I have not used Morse Code for about 16 years now.
It was a fun experience learning Morse Code with the children. - 21-1-2021)
