Bolt or Screw too Short for the job?

I always said to my children that they should try to fix things up or make things themselves before they brought in a trade person or bought the item.
Recently my trowel handle broke off so I made one from a branch off one of my trees that was the right size. It works perfectly and saved me having to buy a new trowel and also from throwing away something that just needed repairs done to it.
Get some tools, collect many over the years, and then when something needs making make it yourself and try to make it out of something natural like wood, its much healthier for the environment. Do your own repairs if you can, you will save money and gain a new skill.

If you have a tool in the garage that its hard to see and you lose it from time to time, paint a part of it bright white or yellow, or apply some yellow or white tape on it somewhere.  The next time you look for this tool you will look for the colour - and if you paint on it a number you can look for that number, and number colour your other hard to find tools in the garage.

Lumber is the word often used for tree’s after they have been cut down, sawed up for use, and Timber is the word used for the wood ready for use in carpentry and building.
