Glue

I watch a lot of YouTube videos about woodwork/Carpentry and they use a lot of glue in projects.
I personally hardly use glue and I have projects I put together 20 years ago that are as solid as the day that they were built and yet were not glued together.

But I do have glue and do use it for some projects if I remember to use glue.

A friend moved away and he gave me a container of Aquadhere.

The container had no cap on the pour spout yet to my surprise the glue works fine and has a strong bond.

I bought some Titebond II and found that useful as well, it is stated that it is good for exterior woodworking projects; including outdoor furniture; birdhouses; mailboxes; planters and picnic tables..

I have also used this glue to glue paper to wood for bandsaw sign projects, and it dries fast and holds perfectly when using the bandsaw to cut out the shapes on the paper (which I printed from  my computer).

I also have Gorilla Glue but it can get messy if you put too much on and it tends to foam. I don’t use it often anymore.

These two brands I recommend that you try, as they have worked well for me.

According to this web site: https://morningchores.com/best-wood-glue/

The 6 Best Wood Glues

  1.     Gorilla Wood Glue
  2.     Titebond 5004 II Premium Wood Glue
  3.     Titebond 1413 III Ultimate Wood Glue
  4.     Elmer’s E7010 Carpenter’s Wood Glue
  5.     GLUE MASTERS Professional Grade Cyanoacrylate “Super Glue”
  6.     FastCap 2P-10 Super Glue Adhesive

Please do your own research and possibly buy small containers of each glue as you can and try them out on the projects you make and this will help you find the wood glue that suits you. Also ask around.

Glue Tips:

One day I wanted to glue some hooks on a wall. I decided that rather than using clamps, screws, or just holding the hooks there for half an hour or so until the glue started to harden that I would just use cheap fast grabbing super Glue in the little tubes at the top of the hooks in a small spot and the wood glue on the rest of the hooks surface to go on the wall. The Super glue held the hooks on the wall long enough for the wood glue to set.

According to Luke B: A Protip for mixing epoxy that I discovered this week:

1) put it in some clingwrap

2) twist the clingwrap into a bag

3) massage it around to mix

4) cut a hole to squirt out the mixed epoxy

Its cheap, disposable, easy cleanup, and its a built in dispenser!
