This is the kind of stuff I wish that my parents had taught me.
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff means to not let the little things that happen in life that are not pleasing get you down.
They are small things and that means that they are easy to get over, we should treat them that way.
We have all seen people blow their stack over something small and trivial and wondered why they did it, and we should remember ourselves doing that as well sometime in the past. Possibly we can recall some child having a tantrum over some small thing that the child was not allowed to have so the child went into tantrum mode and made a fool of his or her self, and that is just how the adult looks losing their temper over next to nothing.
We can also note that a small thing can be blown up into a big thing and that can turn into irrational fears, anxieties, worries etc and it can get us down for a long while. The best thing to do is to see things as they are, and also to practice self control by stopping ourselves from getting upset and taking a good look a what it is that we are upset about and then seeing it for its truth and dealing with it as it is, practically nothing.
