People will try to rush you into making important decisions, especially if they will gain from it.
They know that if you hesitate you may not give them what they want so they try to
push you into making the choice that they want you to make that will be in their
favour.
Sales people try to push you into a sale even when they know that you don’t
need or even really want the product.
A friend of mine went to Taupo, New Zealand. He did not have a lot of money, but he saw a nice caravan he liked. So he stopped and talked to the salesman.
My friend nearly bought the caravan on the spot on his Visa even though he knew that he would struggle for a long tome to pay off the Visa/Bank.
No matter how he looked at the situation in his mind would be tough. But the salesman was very persuasive.
My friend had forgotten to take his Visa and that was his excuse for not buying the caravan. After 3 days of thinking about it he decided that it was far too impractical and expensive to buy the caravan, but he admitted to me that he very nearly did buy it because of the salesman's pressuring him to buy it.
Some good advice is if you are out looking at cars or expensive items to but don’t
take your wallet with you then you cannot be pushed into a sale.
Also wait a few days,
3-4 should be fine and then see how you think about it.
Remember, when people are trying to sell something that it is their job to do so, and many work on commission, so the more that they sell the more money they make. Many salespeople think that it is their job to pressure you into buying something that you may not need or even really want, but will give in and buy it anyway if they pressure you and put you on the spot.
So never take your wallet or purse with you.
Go away for a few days and then see how you feel away from the pressure of the salesperson.
