A Simple Art Exercise.

To help the child learn to follow lines and copy with their own artist flair, I would draw many things on one sheet of blank paper and the child would copy each item by drawing it as well.

This was not about being perfect, just a simple learning lesson and the fun of doing things.

It also helps the child gain confidence in drawing as they are able to copy these items I drew because I deliberately kept them simple for the child’s age and allowed the child to see what I drew and then express it the child’s own way.

Below is an example of this that my son Jimmy completed.
