If the motor is running, the Balance Wheel is spinning yet the needle is not moving, there is a good chance that the issue is that the main drive has become disconnected from the Balance Wheel assembly.

Please remember safety first and unplug the sewing machine before you do any work on it.

The Balance Wheel, is the big knob that you turn with your hand to raise and lower the needle manually. Its on the top right on the sewing machine.

This “disconnection” can happen when the spring that “Arrow 1” is pointing to has slipped out of one of its holes or the spring has broken.

You can use a pair of pliers, or like me just your fingers, and click the end of the spring back into its proper place where “Arrow 2” is pointing.

The spring is for the feeding of the Bobbin. Remember when you feed cotton on a Bobbin how it needs to be pushed to be engaged, well the spring we see in the image is what does the work, and when it comes out of its place it does not engage the Balance Wheel Belt (Arrow 3) where “Arrow 4” is pointing.

At the point where Arrow 4 is pointing there is a pin that fits into a slot that engaged the main motor to the shaft that runs the needle unit.

All you need to do is put the spring back in place and its all fixed.
