e-Sword Bible Software

I first came across e-Sword back in the year 2004 when I was asked to write a sermon for the church that I was going to.

I had only recently at that time been introduced to the Bible and since the church was an avid KJV fan I was at a total loss how to understand Shakespearian English as well as the Bible itself, so I was going through a heavy learning curve. Before the KJV I had bought the Good News Bible which was far easier to read and understand.

e-Sword helped me out in many ways, and simply made the process of writing sermons that much easier and also it made studying the Bible and searching for content a simple process.

e-Sword is the wonderful creation of Rick Meyers who writes this on his web site:

I (Rick Meyers) was born in 1962 in sunny southern California, saved by the grace of GOD in 1980, married my beautiful wife in 1988, and have two wonderful children—a daughter and son, in that order.

The Holy Spirit chose to give me the gift of teaching, which I have been using since 1991. It was this same time that He gave me the desire to program computers (funny how that works). Nine years later GOD combined my passion for His Word and my pleasure of programming, and e-Sword was birthed!

The web site states:
e-Sword is a fast and effective way to study the Bible.

e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free Bible study app.

The huge amount of people blessed by this software would in my guess run into the millions. It is free software but you can make donations to help Rick out with future editions of the software.

The software is an accomplishment that is appreciated by many churches and people all around the world.
It has the ability to search for words, for verses, and with ease you can copy what you found.
Also you can compare the text of the various versions of the Bible and you can download the KJV version of the bible and the KJV with Strong's numbers, very helpful.

This software is so popular since its conception in the year 2000 that in Feb 2019 the 40,000,000th download of e-Sword was completed, thats one impressive milestone.

If you are a Christian this software is a must for you church or for your private, and is especially helpful if you write sermons and you search for a word and e-Sword finds it for you throughout the Bible so you can get a good idea of all the places in the Bible where it occurs, how many times, and this helps you put together a good sermon. Highly recommended for all Christians.
