Tip for Leads and Power Tool Identification.

You know those times in the workshop and you need to plug in an item and there are 4-5 black leads all in the same place and you have to trace each one from the plug all the way back up to the power tool, or from the power tool all the way down to the plug, and they may be a bit jumbled up making it a hassle and time consuming.

Well, here is the solution to this problem.

Image 1

Using my Dremel power tool for this example you can see in Image 1 that the Dremel comes with the traditional dark plug and dark lead.

Image 2

In Image 2 we can see that I have attached green tape to the top of the cord and the bottom.

If we use different colour tape for the top and bottom of all our cords then all we need to do is to look at the top of the cord (The Power Tool) see the colour of the tape and then know that the plug will be the same colour and immediately you know what tool to unplug or which one to plug in to power the Power Tool that you wish to use.

This idea would probably be very useful in an industrial workshop situation, the kitchen and other situations.

All the best from
