Ohms Law

Named after German physicist Georg Ohm, Ohms Law is one of the many formula’s you will find useful in electronics and electrical work. You would be surprised at how easy they can be remembers as you use them from time to time. Ohm’s law formula helps to calculate voltage, current and resistance.

In old form we can write voltage as E = IR, meaning E = I x R.

Where E is voltage, I is Current and R is Resistance.

This can also be written as V = IR, where V is Voltage. Much easier to remember.

Therfore:

V =  voltage.

I =  current.

R =  resistance.

I found a web site dedicated to ohms Law so if you want to know more have a look. Lots of information there.
