A great way to store tools, equipment and the like is with jars, especially glass jars.
Tin cans can be used, but you have to take them down to see what is in them or label each can, and then change the label if the content of the can is changed.
With a glass jar you just look at it and you can see what is in it, no need for labels.
The jars I use the most are the ones we see in Image 1.
These are large Moccona coffee jars and they come with lids that are sealed when put on the jar.
I often remove the plastic seal-able inserts and just have the lid sit on top as it is easier to remove the lids when taking something out, a real blessing when ones arms are full when looking for all one needs in the workshop for a project.
This coffee also comes with smaller jars and are especially useful for holding nuts, bolts, washers and screws for a project that you are working on.
These jars can also be used to store sewing gear, such as buttons, Haberdashery,
In the kitchen I use these jars for storing food such as rice and the like when I buy in bulk.
Because the jars are resealable everything within them is sealed and lasts for a long time.
We can see this in Image 2 and we also can see the plastic seal on one lid and on the other it is removed.
In the Kitchen you would keep the seal on the jar lid to secure the lid tightly.
These kinds of jars can be used for seeds and the like for gardening.
If we use jars from the coffee or whatever we purchase then we are saving money not buying storage containers, and better for the environment buying less plastic containers.
All the best from
