Take Heed/Pay Heed

If you take heed of what someone says or if you pay heed to them, you pay attention to them and consider carefully what they say.

He pays too much heed these days to my nephew Tom, and Tom is no great thinker.

But what if the government takes no heed?

Examples:

“Take heed, this person knows, so listen, learn, it will be for the best for you.”

“Take heed of what the Policeman said, he is warning you of danger on the road ahead.”

“If the Policewoman has warned you to leave the home for your own safety, then it is wise to take heed of such good advice.”

“Please take heed, a noodle dinner in a packet is not the same as a hearty healthy meal.”

“Take heed girl, you are getting involved with badly behaved people, it will not be for your best.”

“The wise soul takes heed of the warning signs.”

1 Chronicles Chapter 28, verse 10:

“Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.”

1 Timothy Chapter 4, verse 16:

“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”

The young woman laughed pridefully, she was not taking heed of the warnings people were giving her, it will only work out bad for her.
