Many of us can think that as a teenager our friends will be there forever so we should
make choices to suit them and fit them in, but the reality that older people will
tell you is that very few if any of your teenage friends will be in your life 5 years
in the future.
People move on to live their lives their own way.
We can feel obliged to include them, follow them, take their advice, not want to offend them when making choices for our own future,
or that we should be loyal as they seem to be to us, but the reality is that many
of our “friends” are not even thinking of us when they make decisions but they are
pleased that we think of them. Many act loyal but have no intention in knowing us
in ten years time, and some are just so busy with family, career, education to care
about you ad what you are doing in the future.
They have their lives and their futures,
so plan for yourself so that your future suits yourself, because it is you who will
have to live your future not anyone else, so please head in the direction that your
heart and soul feel is right for you.
As far as education is concerned many people study in High School and university and then ten years later are doing something completely different to what they studied, so please don’t overstress about your choices, you have many years ahead of you to make new friends who are more suited to your character, mature friends.
As you grow in age you should be maturing in knowledge and wisdom, and your new friends
will be a reflection of who you have become, be at peace with that and look forward
to it.
