When we get a decade older we often look back and are amazed at that we could, should have, or would have done in situations, and during the next decade we would do them in a better way if they came up again - we are older and hopefully wiser.

Many people live to be entertained.

They watch a lot of TV, hours a day.

They watch all the latest movies.

They party on the weekends.

Its all about being entertained and what they think is living life to the fullest.

Because they are entertained all the time they are not thinking. Information comes in and they need do nothing for that to happen except take a seat in front of the TV, or at the sports game, and life thinks for them.

A lot of us, like me, had parents who were not thinkers, and who were more active in their own entertainments than helping their own children.

If you were brought up in such a home then you were not given good examples of adults, thinking, maturity etc, so you are lacking in thinking and mature skills, and people can make you feel a fool because it "seems" like you are not intelligent as them.
If you were brought up in such a home and are being judged like that then get on down to the library and read about life, take up some hobbies that require you to think - you don't have to tell anyone about what you are doing. Keep your mind active in areas where others are not, and instead of wasting time talking with your mates about TV and movies, help them with life their problems, talk about trades you are interested in.

Let people know that you are a thinker without being too prideful about it.

Many claim that society is dumbing us down, and sometimes when we see the news or read a newspaper it sure seems like that.

To be happy you need to be a thinker, and that means taking your mind away from TV, movies and watching for entertainment and "living life", sitting down and pondering things, making plans, and even just for fun exercising your mind and doing things around the home yourself instead of getting someone in to fix it.

It also can mean having creative hobbies where you have to plan, express yourself (Music, paining, art etc), where you have to sue your mind.

I had a neighbour who was such a conformer and non-thinker (Not insulting or judging him) that he would cut down thick branches off his trees then put them on his trailer and dump them at the dump.

He had to pay money to use the dump and the heavier the dump load the more he paid.
He also used a wood burner to keep the house warm in the Wintertime which used the same kinds of wood that he dumped.

He would then spend a lot of money buying a truck load of firewood to burn in his wood burner.

Through your life you will see may people do things that you think are silly or crazy and you will find that you will do some too, no one is exempt from being foolish from time to time, some just more than others.

To be less foolish, wiser and creative you need to be a thinker.
Also a thinker, a person who is responsible and deals with his or her own problems learn from the experience of having a go, failing or succeeding.

Each experience is a lesson, an experience that they can store away in their soul for use later on.

A lot depends on how much effort you want to put in, how much you want to think instead of being a blind follower like everyone else,

and how much you want a better life for yourself.

What I wish I knew...
Be A Thinker!
